WHO WE ARE
Center DC is a community made up of an eclectic group of folks practicing and exploring Islam who gather and strive together to get closer to God: one relationship at a time. No matter where you are at in your spiritual journey, you are welcome exactly as you are to join us and grow from your starting point. WHAT WE DO
A key feature of Center DC is that we don’t just do events - we do community! On an annual basis, we host hundreds and hundreds of gatherings in The District for more than 4,000 individuals, mainly from DC, MD and VA. Each event and program is an opportunity for you to learn, reflect, listen, and share with others. Our team works hard to ensure that every program includes an opportunity for you to check-in, discuss what you learn, and pray in community. Be prepared to meet new folks and share some of yourself in our space.
HOW WE DO IT
We host many gatherings to meet folks’ spiritual, social, and Islamic learning needs: all informed by feedback we get from folks just like you. Our program offerings include:
Monthly one-off events with guest scholars (i.e. “Below the Heavens” + intensives)
Weekly classes
10-week Classes on Traditional Islamic Studies with a scholar - Jurisprudence/Belief/Spirituality
6-week peer-led classes on a relevant theme
Support groups: expert-led peer spaces
Convert Support
Adult Weekend School
Small Groups: Opportunities to be matched with + connect with peers weekly for 8-12 weeks
Peer Groups: Micro-communities within Center DC that meet and connect throughout the month around shared interests (ex. Outdoors Club, Garden Club, Quran Circle, Date Night, Coffee Culture, Mutual Aid, Book Club, etc)
