Since 2015, Center DC has been facilitating faith-based gatherings that help people practicing and/or exploring Islam grow authentic relationships with other seekers and with God. We believe that relationships are healing and that God is for everyone - that’s why cultivating meaningful faith-centric relationships between peers is the core of what Center DC does. We are a small community made up of believers and seekers, longing to grow closer to God in community, together. Based on the prophetic model of 1-to-1 connections, we facilitate opportunities for individuals to be witnessed, cared for, and supported; many who have - for one reason or another - grown distant from their faith or community.

At every gathering, we work to facilitate shared moments, support spiritual wellness, and nurture Islamic literacy by providing platforms for people to learn, reflect and speak; to be both heard and listened to.

In February 2023, we secured our OWN full time permanent space again in The District, alhamdulillah!

We are 95% donor funded by people like you (having received our first grant from Islamic Relief in 2023!).

VISION:

We envision a world where everyone has access to prophetic community. That means spaces where one can grow faith from where ever the starting point is, ask questions, share ones’ self, learn, struggle towards understanding, make mistakes, practice forgiveness and cultivate joy with others who are also living and practicing Islam. We’re striving to create and support spaces both in Washington D.C. and beyond that give individuals opportunities to feel seen, connected, and supported in their faith journey.

Check out our statement.

Our board released a letter in support of Black Muslims in our community. It’s just a first step in our response to the latest round of police murders.

Do the work.

Unlearning anti-blackness takes work. Join our latest book club and start doing the work yourself. We’ll meet for 4 sessions as we work our way through the book together.

EDUCATE YOURSELF.

In an effort to amplify black Muslim voices, our team put together a list of folks to follow, books to read, and movies to watch. We shared them on IG.
